The death sentence
Updated: 20-Aug-2013
Introduction
We are all born with an inescapable death sentence. This absolute truth clouds our certainty of life and creates a shared uncertainty in us all. If we could take a step out of this box we call life and view it from the outside you would automatically assume we humans would seek charity towards each other in these shared circumstances; instead we try and dominate each other by violence with destructive words, lies, theft, revenge, molestation, adultery, rape and murder just to reach some kind of “King of the hill” status.
Fear of death
Robert Langs, M.D. had the following to say about the fear of death[1] in humans: “Understanding in depth the nature of these anxieties and how they are most constructively ameliorated can in a small way contribute to humankind’s hopes and dreams for peace on earth at last.” [2] He even goes so far as to say: “But denial often leads to violence and always diminishes the possibilities for understanding, insight, growth, and effective coping.” It does not take a psychologist degree to realize that the reality of death is one of the greatest underlying contributors towards fear and negativity in this world. The word negative; used in the psychological sense was only first recorded in the year 1916, before that the word sorrow was commonly used. Sorrow is translated from the root Hebrew word צער that also translates;[3] to worry, pain or anger: – displease, grieve or hurt. The word sorrow was first recorded in the book of Genesis in verse 3:16.
Today the evolution mainstream is taught that death = progress[4] and according to this theory; death always existed therefore it’s impossible that our human emotions could have known any better. This contradicts our feelings of sorrow by the death of our children or loved ones!! If our emotions or ‘soul’ went through the same evolutionary cycle of death as our flesh, then how is it possible for those feelings to exist? ‘Think about it.
The truth is evolution is just a theory derived from a philosophy that presumably started around 600 – 546 BC[5]. Documented human history as recorded in the Torah tells us a completely different story. The Torah also included in the Bible was written between1550 – 1200BC[6]. Genesis is the first book that reveals [backed by huge amounts of scientific evidence[7]] everything including matter, energy, light and time was created by YHWH (GOD) in 6 literal 24 hour days about 6000 years ago. According to this history our human flesh was originally created by God with a soul and there was no death. God created everything very good[8]; that includes sex, love, food, wine for men to enjoy[9], freedom, happiness, rest and peace. ”…God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Gen 1:27) God told Adam; he can freely eat of ALL the fruit in the garden except for one tree’s fruit; “…for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” Gen2:17.
God also created Lucifer, the angel of light and beauty known as the anointed cherub, son of the morning, satan and devil. Satan’s heart started to fill with pride because of his beauty and brightness so that it corrupted his wisdom and made him desire the worship that only God is worthy of. Iniquity and sin was found in him. A war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angles fought against satan and his angles, satan prevailed not and was cast out of heaven unto earth.[10] On Earth satan told Eve a lie with the intent of murder: “Ye shall surely not die” Gen 3:6-7 they believed lucifer, ate of the forbidden fruit and surely death and sorrow started! From that instant the entire human race became in bondage to sin with satan, “….for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.” 2Pet2:19. Then satan became known as the god of this world (2Cr 4:4).
Pleading innocence
At that instant the entire seed of the human race is automatically included into this death sentence, because by nature EVERYONE is children of wrath walking in sin: “….in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.” Eph 2:3 The Word of God even says: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” 1Jo 1:8. “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” Rom3:10. Everyone even the most righteous person is by nature of the devil. Jesus said: “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning…” 1Jo 3:8
This contradicts popular believe that you are born neutral until the time you decide who you want to follow, no the truth is: “Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” Joh 8:44. “And because I tell [you] the truth, ye believe me not.” Joh 8:45. By nature everyone is on their way to die because “the wages of sin is death” Rom 6:23 in other words; the death of your flesh(blood) is required to pay for your sin. Sin also eternally separates us from God so when our flesh dies our soul go to hell. Hell comes from the Greek word “hades” that literally means “place of departed souls”[11] separated from God. Hell is located in the heart of earth and is split up in two sections; the first section was a place of comfort in Abraham’s bosom while the other is a place of extreme torment. These two sections are divided with a great gulf so that one cannot pass from one part to another.[12]
BUT GOD…..
In His great love for every single human soul GOD made a promise in Gen 3:15 that HE will send his only Son Jesus to redeem the world. History tells us that about two thousand years ago Jesus(God in flesh) came from heaven, born out of a virgin, lived a pure and sinless life only to be falsely accused and brutally murdered by the “so called saints” of his day. Unknowingly to most people of his time Jesus was the perfect blood sacrifice needed to take the penalty of sin for all who will repent and trust in Him. “In Whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace;” Eph1:7. When Jesus died He’s flesh went to the grave and His soul went to Abraham’s bosom in hell to preach to all those stuck in the torment of hell. Three days later Jesus’s body and soul rose from the grave bringing with him all the sanctified souls from hell. Forty days after His resurrection one of the last things Jesus told the people was: “all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth”Mat28:18 and was then physically lifted up into Heaven to sit on the right Hand of God.
We are now living in the grace period where each person on this earth gets a fair chance to repent of his sin and move out of this kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light. In doing so, Christ’s righteousness can be imputed to the repentant sinner and when God one day judges him, he is found to be righteous because of his standing in Christ. “But for us also, to whom it [righteousness] shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;” Rom 4:24
Why move out this kingdom of darkness?
“I’ll rather reign in hell with satan than serve in heaven” – this is the latest lie from satan, he is already the god of this world and if you believe this then my question is, are you ruling with him? Just look at the state of this world and your life!! Satan is a liar and murderer and wants to take you with him to the eternal lake of fire prepared by God for him and his angels. Hell will also be thrown into this lake of fire in the end. The truth is; people in GOD’s kingdom are going to reign with Jesus. (Rev 2:26, 27)
How do we get out of this kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light?
By being a good person? NO. What helping the needy? NO. What about attending all Christian functions and church services? NO. What about being raised as Christian or being baptized as a baby? NO. What about not enjoying your life? Certainly NOT. The only way to move into the Kingdom of God is to be born again. And how you do that is by realizing you are a sinner, confess your sins to Jesus in prayer and repent, meaning “willingly/want inly” turn away from sin, ask Jesus to wash you with His blood and cleans you of all your sins. Invite His Holy Spirit into your heart for helping you resist the lusts of your flesh. Be baptized by another born again Christian by emerging your whole body into water and rising out of the water as a new person in Christ. Remember no sin is too great for God to forgive; ALL POWER is given to HIM.
O death where is your sting?[13]
“Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” 1Cor15:57. Now when our physical body dies our soul immediately goes to Jesus in Heaven (2 Cor 5:8,Phil1:21,23 ). When God’s “grace time” for each person’s repentance has run out, then “…the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Tes 4:14-17 Then we’ll receive a new immortal and incorruptible body for everlasting life 1Cr 15:50-54 in a new earth and new heaven where righteousness dwells. 2 Pet 3:13 & Rev 21:1& Heb13:14& Col 1:5. “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Rev21:4
For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? Rom 8:24

One response to “The death sentence”
Ek is onskuldig. Ek het nie my man vermoor nie; ek sweer ek het hom nie vermoor nie.
Haar kinders is by haar in die Dodesel toegelaat.
Hierdie man het nooit snags geslaap nie.
Dis soos ‘n verterende onuitblusbare vuur.”
– Sjibbolet
